TIMBERSCOMBE (Reeks Reynolds)

The old and picturesque are certainly retained in Fernhurst and treasured as reminders of days gone by and for those who love old things, there can be few more delightful places to stay than Timberscombe, a 16th century half-timbered house, which stands on Friday’s Hill. It is some 400 feet above sea level and commands wonderful views over the weald, wooded hills and downs beyond. Old without and old within, yet modern enough to possess every possible comfort, though one goes up and down the olden stairs and steps. This guest house for many years has had large parties of people, who love to explore the countryside and district of Fernhurst, tramping many miles in search of their favourite cult.
